These pieces were made while processing a personal revelation which can only be described as ‘the deep relief of knowing Jesus’.

Incorporating the exploration of movement, colour and portraiture to approach this revelation in a diverse way, I was intending to imply possibly ambiguous emotions through layer and texture. People experience faith and relationship in a variety of deep, unique ways. To be known by Jesus, for me, has been a common meeting ground with others of faith as we connect over being held in value and love by the Creator from whom we believe true love and value originate.

All pieces were made in acrylics or watercolours.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Michaela is an Australian painter who works primarily with watercolours and acrylics, her favourite things to capture being humans and nature. She is currently embarking on the study of Art Therapy, this adventure having been birthed from a love of people, as well as intrigue into the connection between health and creativity. Her heart jumps at the sight of mountains in the distance, the sound of Kookaburras in the backyard, and she can often be found wandering outdoors with a coffee in hand.
