Geode Collection
An abstract look at the inner making of a geode rock and crystals in watercolor.
During this outreach and crazy season of life, God has really been encouraging me to value not just the big moments but also the little ones. Whether it is the hours locked up in your house, spending time with your family, or completing a little piece of art to send to a friend. Every moment is a chance to know God more.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Rediet Serrano is a young artist, born in Ethiopia, Africa and raised in the United States. She has loved art and the peace that it brings to her life from a very young age. Rediet began to take a serious interest in art during her junior year of high school in 2017. Having grown up in a Christian home she has long had a desire to be a missionary. In 2019 at age 18 she attended a missionary school that opened her up to the idea of using both art and missions together. She is currently in an Art Evangelist school with YWAM(Youth With a Mission) to expand her knowledge of art and how to use it for the glory of God.
Rediet believes that art has the ability to explain things when words and actions seem to fail. She wants to use her art to express the love that God has for others in a form that they will understand. She also seeks to learn more about therapeutic art to help people express how they are feeling.
At the beginning of her art journey Rediet had a high interest in drawing and acrylics. Throughout high school and the AES she has found a love for experimenting with different types of art tools and paints. She discovered that she loves using watercolors and using the pallet knife any chance she gets. Most of all, Rediet has learned the beauty of having a heart and mind that is open to try new things, whether that is a new tool, process, paint, or brush.
